(ANS – Rome) – How is Youth Ministry in the Congregation getting on? What is the Department doing? What are its various sectors getting up to? From today, these and other questions like them can be answered! The Department for Youth Ministry has issued a newsletters for those directly involved and for others too.
In the editorial – signed by the Councillor Fr Fabio Attard and dedicated to the re-thinking of Youth Ministry - one can read: “This Newsletter will be a means of communication by the Department for Youth Ministry (DYM) with the Salesians and lay collaborators who together share the mission of Don Bosco today.”
It will appear every six months and will provide short news items and updates on the work being undertaken by the Department. In addition to the editorial there are sectors devoted to (schools and technical, vocational, educational and training centres according to the continents, IUS – Salesian Institutions of Higher Education, and the parish) and areas of animation (spiritual direction and vocational discernment, pastoral formation according to the continents, Salesian Youth Movement, Youth Ministry Delegates, processes of ministry).
It is aimed mainly at the Provincials and Youth Ministry Delegates but is possible to read it – in Italian, English and Spanish – in the documents section of Youth Ministry in sdb.org
