(ANS – Seoul) – Yesterday 14 October, the visit of the Rector Major, Fr Pascual Chávez, and his Vicar, Fr Adriano Bregolin,  the Salesian Korean Province of the “Holy Korean Martyr” began. The programme of the two Superiors in the next few days includes a visit also to the Provinces of  “Saint John Bosco” of the North Philippines (FIN), and “Mary Help of Christians” of the South Philippines (FIS).

Having left Rome on Wednesday afternoon after a stop in Dubai, Fr Chávez and Fr Bregolin arrived at 4 in the afternoon yesterday, after a journey of about 24 hours, at the  “Incheon” airport of Seoul. Here they were very warmly welcomed by the members of the local Salesian Family led by  the Provincial Fr Stephanus Nam, which more than restored their enthusiasm and energies.

From the airport they were taken to the Provincial House where in a happy and family atmosphere the Rector Major and his Vicar greeted the members of the community  and got to know more about the Novices of the Province with whom they spent the evening.

Afterwards accompanied by Fr Nam,  Fr Chávez and Fr Bregolin, paid a visit to the Don Bosco Youth Centre where the many youngsters present welcomed them very enthusiastically. The  Rector Major gave them the “Good Night” and after a group photograph ended a busy day.

Early this morning Friday 15 October, the Rector Major and Fr Bregolin went to the hostel of the Shin Kil Dong community and greeted  Fr Marc Cuvelier, former Provincial of Korea. Then having returned to the Provincial House the Rector Major gave a talk at a day of recollection for the Salesians of the houses in Seoul, while in the afternoon he travels to the Shinadong community.
