|Brazil – Meeting of the Provincial Animation Teams|
About 400 young people, students of Catholic schools of the Archdiocese, were warmly welcomed by the Salesian educational community. At the entrance to the institute students were welcomed by members of the Salesian Youth Movement. Then, in the auditorium of the school where the meeting took place, young people were involved in an atmosphere of joy and reflection.
Welcoming those present, Fr Marco Sandrini, the Rector, expressed his happiness at seeing the house full of boys and girls and said that it is the young, with their strength, who set the Church on its way. Then the Archbishop of Porto Alegre, Dadeus Grings, spoke of the importance of this meeting as a “public witness of the young. The school forms young people for life and these events celebrate the lives of young people”.
Interviewed by the “TV Red de Vida” network, a middle school student, Leticia Maria Hoffmann, said that “the youth meeting facilitates communication because it is about young people speaking with other young people”.
During the morning, along with plays, songs and prayers, young people took part in in two conferences. In the afternoon, however, they were involved in different workshops and to end the day, attended Mass in honour of Mary Help of Christians.
The Pastoral Care Coordinator for the school expressed his satisfaction with the high turnout of young leaders and wished everyone continued success in their studies and carrying out effective pastoral activities.
