Paraguay – Continental Congress of young Salesian pastpupils
Paraguay - Extraordinary Visitation
Dominican Republic – Agreement signed for the education of the young
The agreement was signed by the Minister, Dr. Luis A. Riart and by Fr Walter Jara, in his twofold role of Superior of the Salesian Province of “Mary Assumed into Heaven” of Paraguay and Director of the Don Bosco Foundation in Paraguay.
It should be pointed out that the MEC is working with various institutions and organisations in society with interests similar to its own, whose main mission is that of “ensuring a high quality of education in order to contribute to improving the conditions of life of all the population.”
After signing the agreement Fr Jara said that the Salesian community felt itself to be once again committed to its task of forming good Christians and upright citizens, in this way making a contribution, through education, to building up the country.
On his part the Minister Riart declared that the MEC is pleased with this agreement and indicated that the first steps would be aimed at supporting technical education in the Salesian Institute of Minga Guazú, the formation of teachers in the public schools of the capital and throughout the country, and in research projects and in publications dealing with the youth situation in Paraguay.
