(ANS – Loreto) – About 2,100 young people from Salesian circles in the Central Italian Province gathered together between 29 April and 1 May to take part in the III Forum  of the Salesian Youth Movement with the motto “At the springs of Love.”.
 
They met together in four Salesian centres in Ancona, Porto Recanati, Macerata and Civitanova Marche. In each place the Forum began with a warm welcome organised by young volunteers with ‘getting to know you’ dances and games.

After this in the various centres Fr Flaviano D’Ercoli SDB, responsible for vocations in the Province, Fr Renzo Campetella OFM,  Fr Fabio Attard, Salesian General Councillor for Youth Ministry and Fr Davide Banzato, an expert in street evangelisation spoke about the way to love loving relationships and the true source of love in which everyone is fully engaged. The catechetical talks were introduced by short musical video of artists well-known to the young people, as a starting point to raise the first questions about love.

On the second day of the SYM Forum the young people were offered  some experiences and ways of celebrating the subjects of purity and modesty in love. Interactive workshops and discussions about the roles attributed to men and women nowadays clearly demonstrated how purity helps young married couples to live their loving relationship to the full.

At the end of the second day a pilgrimage from Porto Recanati to Loreto brought all the young people to the Sanctuary of the Holy House where there was prayer vigil led by Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major of the Salesians. In the course of the evening all the young people had the opportunity to enjoy themselves in an enthusiastic festival  in the Square which included various artists.

The Forum ended on 1 May with Mass at which Fr Chávez presided. In his homily he once again invited all the young people not to be easily satisfied and to search for the true source of love.
