(ANS – Jerusalem) – On 4 March at the “Studium Theologicum Salesianum Saints Peter and Paul” (STS) in Jerusalem, better known as “Ratisbonne”, there was the presentation of the book “Priests of Christ in the Church for the world”, a collection of articles on the subject of the Priesthood, in this Year of the Priest, written by professors of the STS.
The presentation took place in the Don Bosco Auditorium of the “Ratisbonne” Institute in Jerusalem. About 90 people were present including the students and staff of STS, representatives of academic institutions in Jerusalem (the Pontifical Biblical Institute, the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum ...), the Nuncio Apostolic, Archbishop Antonio Franco, who had also written the introduction of the book, and various representatives of the local Church including Mons. William Shomali, Chancellor of the Latin Patriarchate and former Rector of the Latin Patriarchal Seminary.
Mons. William Shomali introduced the evening with a conference: “The identity of the priest today starting from the experience of the Holy Land.” The talk was greatly appreciated by everyone and Mons. Shomali declared: “this book could be the basis for a spiritual updating course for the clergy of the Patriarchate. I shall suggest it to the Patriarch.”
The Ratisbonne student performed a piece by Andrea Bocelli, “Prayer” which inspired all present. Afterwards Fr Gianni Caputa described the contents of the various articles in the book and Archbishop Franco gave his blessing to all those present.
