(ANS – Lisbon) – Between 24 and 29 July 20 lay teachers from Salesian schools in Portugal, accompanied by 5 Salesians, are visiting Turin in order to get to know better the places where Don Bosco lived.

This is now the third time that this joint formation opportunity for Salesians and lay people has been available and is a II level response to the formation of lay people.

In fact taking part in the pilgrimage are those teachers who have already completed the II level course and within the schools have considerable responsibility and management roles.

Therefore deliberately aiming at a higher level of formation and with a deeper spiritual content  the programme allows time for both personal and group reflection, and  provides an atmosphere for sharing. Thus those taking part have an opportunity to experience and admire “in loco” the sources of Salesian spirituality.

The purpose, then is to strengthen and deepen the spiritual life of the educators, to give continuity, through the personal engagement of the lay people, to Don Bosco’s Preventive System in the Salesian schools in Portugal.
