(ANS – Rome) – The Rector Major, with the agreement of his Council in their summer plenary session has appointed Fr Lanfranco Fedrigotti as the new Superior of the  “Mary Help of Christians” Province of China; he takes over from Fr Simon Lam.

Fr Fedrigotti was born 23 June 1949 at Tiarno di Sotto, in the north of Italy. He made his novitiate at Albarè, took his first vows on 16 August 1966 and his perpetual vows on 16 August 1972 at Albarè di Costermano.

Ordained priest on 21 June 1977 in Hong Kong, he was Vice Rector and Rector in several of the Salesian houses in that city. At Province level he was a Councillor and Delegate for Formation.

His installation will be on 11 August in the Salesian House of Studies in Hong Kong.
