(ANS - Antigua Guatemala) – For the second year running the committee for University Chaplaincies in the Central American and Panamá Province (CAM), held a meeting for the teams from the Don Bosco University of El Salvador and the Mesoamerican University of Guatemala to reflect and to share their experiences.
Forty five people took part including students, teachers, leaders, technical staff who are all active members of the various teams of the University Chaplaincy. Three of the four campuses of the Mesoamerican University were represented: the Central, the Centre for Higher Studies in the capital Guatemala and that in Quetzaltenango.
There were two main objectives: to produce a Provincial Plan for Salesian University Formation involving the greater number of the young people and the sharing of the experiences by the teams taking part in the areas of family, society, liturgy all-round formation and Salesian studies.
As a result of the meeting those present were all eager to continue in the areas of evangelisation, the dialogue with science and culture in the Salesian settings for Higher Education.
In the course of the meeting there was also a guided tour of the city and the wealth of its historical colonial heritage.
In the previous meeting in 2011, twenty people had taken part, so this time there was obviously a growing interest on the part of the Province in University ministry.
