Portugal - Visit of Fr Scaramussa
(ANS – Lisbon: 26 February 2007) - Between 16 and 21 February, the Councillor for Social Communication of the Salesian Congregation, Fr Tarcisio Scaramussa, preached a retreat to a group of Salesians in the Province of Portugal. 55 Salesians took part in the reteat held at the Turcifal Centre for Spirituality in Torres Vedras, where Fr Scaramussa led the reflections drawing on Don Bosco’s dream of the “10 diamonds” as seen in the light of the Word of God, the Salesian Constitutions and the Letter convoking the 26th General Chapter. At the end of the retreat Fr Scaramussa also took part in a meeting about Social Communications held in Lisbon on 22 and 23 February attended by 20 Salesians involved in communications in the Portuguese Province. In the course of the meeting, the Councillor for Social Communications dealt with various topics connected with the Salesian Social Communication System and spoke about the present situation regarding work being carried out in the Congregation in this area.
