Brazil - Provincial Meeting for Social Communication
(ANS – Jaboatão dos Guararapes: 20 February 2007) - On 11 and 12 February there was a training meeting on Social Communication organised by the Salesian Province of Recife in Brazil (BRE) to improve the quality of communication in building the Kingdom of God in a Salesian way. 19 representatives from the various communities in the Province attended the meeting held in Jaboatão dos Guararapes. During the two days, starting from the initiatives and the current Communications structures available to the Salesians in the Province, at attempt was made to help those taking part appreciate the importance and the role of social communication in each centre; the starting point being a short reflection on Don Bosco’s circular letter on spreading good books. The 19 participants were also involved in a workshop on journalism led by the journalist Wilson Firmo. The meeting ended with the planning of the Provincial Social Communication activities for 2007.
