Cerignola, Italy – 24 April 2013. The Rector Major took part in the Feast of the Southern Italian Province at the house in Cerignola, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. On the same occasion he participated in a meeting of the Salesian Youth Movement of Southern Italy on the theme “The Joy of Believing”.

Rome, Italy – April 2013. A meeting of he World Advisory Body on Social Communications took place from 12 to 15 April. The Rector Major opened proceedings by presenting, re-reading and commenting on Don Bosco’s letter on the spread of good literature, written in 1885.

Seville, Spain – April 2013. A series of meetings took place from 3 to 5 April in the Retreat House of Sanlucar on the topic of cooperation. The main one was the 6th General Assembly of the Federation of Salesian NGOs for the development of the Don Bosco Network. Joanna Stozek was elected President.

Guwahati, India – April 2013. The Superiors of the Provinces of Southern Asia, those in charge of Commissions in the region, and the Directors of Development Offices met on 3 and 4 April, together with Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Councillor for Southern Asia, to plan the development of Youth Ministry in the region.

Maputo, Mozambique – 10 April 2013. The Queen of Spain, Donna Sofia, visited Don Bosco Higher Institute at Maputo. She was accompanied by Fr José Angel Rajoy, Vice-Provincial of the Vice-Province of Mozambique and Director of the Institute. It was built with financial assistance from Cooperazione Spagnola.

Vienna, Austria – April 2013. From 19 to 21 April, 21 young people from the Salesian Youth Movement took part in a retreat to mark the start of their preparation for World Youth Day which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from 23 to 28 July 2013.

Canlubang, Philippines – April 2013. The formation house Don Bosco Canlubang celebrated its 50th anniversary on 1 April. About 100 Salesians from both Philippine Provinces, all past students of the centre, came together for a day of Thanksgiving and fraternal sharing.

Bratislava, Slovakia – April 2013. From 11 to 30 April, the urn with the relic of Don Bosco visited the Salesian works in Slovakia.
