– With the analysis of the situation in Slovakia the enquiry of the Salesian iNfo Agency into European young people adds another piece to the jigsaw. This time too the assessment of the social context is accompanied by the presentation of some useful responses proposed by the Sons of Don Bosco.

3/5/2012 - Slovakia – PE: Salesian theatres
(ANS – Bratislava) – Thanks to the enthusiasm of some Salesians, there are moments in our oratories, when children and youth get on the “big stage”. In the Salesian youth centers two or more plays are rehearsed every year.
3/5/2012 - Slovakia – PE: Summer camps
(ANS – Bratislava) – In the Salesian centres, there were 90 summer camps where 1 600 animators helped to make the summer more exciting for 6000 children last year. 35 animators helped to organize mission camps in Slovakia and abroad in which a lot of children took part. A number of new experiences, nice moments and better relationships are uncalculable.
3/5/2012 - Slovakia – PE: Salesian Media School
(ANS – Bratislava) – Children and young people are influenced by the media without them having the ability to criticize the things that are surrounding them. As a reaction to this Media School has been created. This Slovak-Czech project of the Salesian family offers informal education focused on media, especially for young people.

Ecuador – April 2012 - The “Salesian High School” in East Los Angeles organised a trip to Ecuador in preparation for the missionary expedition which will leave next month in June to support the Street Children Project. The coordinators of school pastoral activities Paulina Esparza and Mia Aguilar, together with Juan Carlos Montenegro, Provincial Delegate for Missionary Promotion in the West United Statesi (SUO), met Fr Francisco Sánchez, director of the project, and the youngsters concerned.
