Angola – Barroso visits Lixeira

(ANS – Luanda) – José Manuel Durao Barroso, President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Portugal, in the course of an official visit to Angola visited the “Don Bosco School” of Lixiera, the poorest district of the capital Luanda. Accompanying him on the visit, which took place on Friday, April 20, there was also Ana Dias Lourenço, Minister for Planning and Development and spokeswoman of the “Southern African Development Community”.

(ANS – Rome) – On Friday 20 April the Higher Course of University Specialization “Rights and tutelage of mInors” came to an end in Rome. About 30 young people received certificates of attendance. The event served to promote reflection on how important and meaningful for the whole of society is the attitude taken in regard to minors.

(ANS – Cracow) – In the last few days Mons. Clement Mulenga, SDB, bishop of the new diocese of Kabwe, Zambia, made a brief visit to Poland, meeting the Salesian communities of the Warsaw and Crakow Provinces.

Bilbao, Spain – April 2012 – On April 18/19 the regular meeting of the provincial economers of Spain was held in the Provincial House of Bilbao (SBI). The first day was devoted to various topics, among them the way to follow in view of the unification of Provinces, programmed for 2014. On the second day, the Economer General, Bro. Jean Paul Muller, accompanied by the Provincial of Bilbao, gave an address explaining some economic matters of the Congregation and aspects which regard the Spanish Provinces.
