RMG - Everything ready for the visit of the Rector Major to Mexico

(ANS - Rome) -  From 9 to 12 May the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will visit the province of Mexico-Mexico.  It will be a brief, but very intensive visit, full of significant events

Fr Á.F. Artime will be accompanied by Fr Timothy Ploch, Councillor for the Inter-America Region, and his personal secretary, Fr Horacio López.  On Tuesday 9 May he will meet the Provincial Council of the Salesians and then, more informally, the council of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA).

The following day, at the Don Bosco Institute in Mexico City, a meeting with the Salesians of the Province and a concert by the Youth Orchestra of the Institute are scheduled. In the afternoon. the Rector Major will visit the FMA Provincial House and meet the Sisters.

On Thursday, 11 May, there will be a Marian day, with a large pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. There they will have Mass in honour of Our Lady for the whole Salesian Family, and then a meeting first with the leaders and then with all the members of the local Salesian Family.

Finally, on the last day of his visit, the Tenth Successor of Don Bosco will spend the day with young people, first with the Salesian novices and then with the members of the Salesian Youth Movement, for whom he will preside over the Eucharist.
