Angola - A young Salesian trainee dies in an accident

(ANS - Luanda) - The Salesians of Angola's "Mamá Muxima" Province mourn the loss of a 25-year-old young Salesian, Domingos Cassua Mateque de Oliveira, the victim of an accident.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, May 29, while the young Salesian was on Binda hill - already the site of several automobile accidents - and was traveling with another young trainee, Avelino Chinhama dos Santos, towards N 'dalatando.

While student Chinhama dos Santos was not seriously injured, cleric Mateque de Oliveira's condition was immediately judged as severe: he was urgently transferred to the military hospital and remained in a coma for several days. Yesterday, Monday, June 5, he passed on to Heaven.

Domingos Cassua Mateque de Oliveira was born on October 7, 1991, in Uige, Angola. He had attended "Pope John XXIII" school in Viana and performed his Novitiate between 2013 and 2014 in Namaacha, Mozambique. On 31 January, after three annual temporary professions, he was engaged in a three-year occupation, and was currenty serving the Salesian community "Dom Bosco-Palanca" of the capital, Luanda.

The Salesian Family now prays for him and has scheduled a prayer vigil in his suffrage for tomorrow, 7 June.
