(ANS – Munich)  Networking, exchange, new ideas. Representatives of the European Don Bosco Publishing houses came together for their biennial meeting, this time in Munich, from May 2 to 5. “I am happy not only to get to know what everybody is up to in the respective publishing houses,” said Stefan Höchstädter, managing director from Don Bosco Verlag in Munich. “It is also a great opportunity to show them our work here in Munich with the strong connection to the young people on Campus Don Bosco – that combines different Salesian institutions next to our publishing house, like our group homes for apprentices.”

Exchange knowledge to and for young people. That is, what the publishing houses all try to achieve, explains Fr Filiberto Gonzàlez Plasencia, Councillor for Social Communication. “Therefore, it is important to get together and keep up to date with new developments of culture, spirituality and technology in the spirit of Don Bosco.”

The participants were also very pleased with the event. Sarah Seddon from “Don Bosco Publications”, Bolton, in the UK thought it to be a “great opportunity to put faces to names” and also to get inspirations for the publishing house she represents. So she was especially impressed by small children books that are made in Munich.

Moreover, Marta Palomares from “Edebé” Salesian publisher, seated in Barcelona, Spain, will also take a lot of ideas to her country – like special picture card sets. “And it is great to see that there are so many resources and employees to keep the work and spirit of Don Bosco alive.”
