Italy – Inauguration of Street Art work of Naples Salesian Institute “E. Menichini”

26 September 2019

Naples, Italy - September 2019 - September 23rd, in Via SS. Giovanni e Paolo, n. 64, in Naples, there was the inauguration ceremony of the "Flying Island" street art work created by the artist Lorenzo Gosh together with the youths of the territorial education area of the "E. Menichini" Salesian Institute of Naples; its subject: the value of listening. The #assafà project involved children in a year-long educational program, marked by the International Days of the Rights of Childhood and Adolescence 2018-2019. Where before there was a plain gray wall in a difficult neighborhood of the city, today, thanks to the Salesians of Naples, there is a flying colored island that conveys the values of brotherhood, love and solidarity. A first step for the redevelopment of a difficult area where the degradation and gray of the walls now leaves room for the vivacity of Don Bosco's youth. Present at the inauguration were the Mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris, the coordinator of Educativa Don Bosco Napoli, Daria D’agostino, and the Director of the Salesian House of Naples, Fr Fabio Bellino.
