(ANS - Turin) - The Don Bosco Missions Ethnographic Museum, located in the Salesian Mother House in Valdocco is the custodian of countless historical and cultural artifacts from all over the world, has organized a special day entirely dedicated to grandparents and grandchildren for Saturday, 2 October, 2021.
(ANS - Porto-Novo) - The Salesians of Benin are rekindling the hopes of children exploited at work. Most of them have fled from poor families. Sometimes, in fact, to ensure that they learn a trade, the parents entrust the young people to craftsmen, who then treat the children as slaves. Other times, the children are forced to work to help the family and thus drop out of school.
(ANS – Kigali) – As the African continent celebrates the Day of the African Child, the Salesians of Don Bosco in the Africa of the Great Lakes Province (Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda) call on parents to join hands in caring for the welfare of the children from birth to adulthood because that is what will help them to become good and valuable citizens for the country of origin and the continent in general.
(ANS - Santo Domingo) - As part of the month for the prevention of abuse and mistreatment of children, the "Muchachos y Muchachas con Don Bosco" Network, an institution with a history of 35 years of work in favor of children and more vulnerable adolescents, promoted by the Antilles Province (ANT), launched the "Protect childhood" campaign, in order to prevent and raise awareness among the population of the Dominican Republic on a problem that is unfortunately very present in the country, if it is true, as the statistics report, that 62% of children and adolescents between 1 and 14 years of age are victims of abuse or maltreatment.
Warsaw, Poland - December 2020 - “You, Lord Jesus, are reborn in every child, you identify with those who are hungry, who are sick, who are naked; who have nowhere to take refuge, with all those who are hungry not only for bread, for clothes, for home, but for love.” This is a famous prayer of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. The many children and young people who are beneficiaries of the “A gift for the whole year” campaign by the Salesian Mission Office in Warsaw are hungry, for love and for life. Through this initiative, the Salesians help many young people by providing them with food, education, courses, moments of leisure and prayer.
(ANS - Madrid) - On the occasion of the World Day of Childhood and Adolescence, which is celebrated next Friday, November 20, the entities that make up the National Coordination of Salesian Social Platforms are promoting the campaign #ApreseemosDeTi (Let's learn from you) to highlight the commendable behavior of children and adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic and protect their rights.
