(ANS - Campo Grande) - The "Museu das Culturas Dom Bosco", officially inaugurated on October 27, 1951 (previously called "Museo Dom Bosco"), commemorated its 70th anniversary of existence, with an issue of a special commemorative stamp developed in collaboration with the National Post Office. The ceremony was held on 27 October in the presence of the Vice Province of the Province of Brazil-Campo Grande (BCG), Fr Elias Roberto, the Rector of the "Universidade Católica Dom Bosco" (UCDB), Fr Giuseppe Marinoni, and the interim state superintendent of the Post Office in southern Mato Grosso, Flávio Luiz Dias Leal, as well as various UCDB deans, guests and various authorities. The event took place at the Museum, located in the Indigenous Nations Park, in Campo Grande.

(ANS - Campinápolis) - The clear and definitive words of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, continue to inspire Salesian work in the geographical and existential peripheries of the world: “In Brazil, a choice was made as a Congregation: we shall never abandon our presence among the indigenous peoples; and secondly, we try to support native young people with education, so that they in turn will serve their own people and do not abandon them."

It is Jesus who calls each of us, from our different realities and personal histories, to form in his name a community that manifests God's Trinitarian love to young people". This is what Fr Hugo Orozco, SDB, Councillor for the Interamerica Region, shared in a reflection arising out of the Extraordinary Visit that he is carrying out, on behalf of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to the Salesian houses of the Province of Peru. Campinápolis, Brazil - July 2021 - The parish priest of the Immaculate Conception of Bilac, in the State of Sao Paulo, Fr Paulo Roberto Lupifieri, led a missionary activity in the villages of Teihidzatsé and Novo Teihidzatsé, located in the Campinápolis area and populated by the Xavante natives. Accompanied by two lay people from his parish, he was also able to enjoy the support of the Salesian deacon José Alves de Oliveira, the Salesian Cooperator Célia Coimbra, and the Claretian Sister Cecília of Nova Xavantina. During the week the missionary delegation shared meals with the indigenous people and animated the various activities of the communities.

Wasakentsa, Ecuador - August 2021 - In the community of Wasakentsa, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon, about 100 young people and 12 Etserin (Animators of the Word), coming from different communities, gathered for the IV Meeting of Achuar Young Leaders, which took place from 29 July to 1 August. They were four days full of fraternity and communion, in which the formative ideas, curated by the Salesian Youth Movement of Ecuador, explored the theme of the Rector Major's Strenna 2021, "Moved by Hope".

(ANS - Campo Grande) - In recent weeks, several benefactors from various parts of Brazil have spent their energies and resources to help a people in difficulty: these are the Xavante indigenous people who, among the many difficulties they encounter in this phase, even suffer hunger. The benefactors raised funds that were transformed into baskets of food and basic necessities that have already been distributed in recent weeks among the natives of the municipality of Campinápolis, in Mato Grosso (MT).
