(ANS - Panama City) - The XXXIV World Youth Day will be held in Panama from 22 to 27 January 2019. A few months from the celebration of the Synod of Bishops on "Youth, faith and vocational discernment", Pope Francis will meet young people from all over the world in Panama, the land of the Channel, a land between two oceans and a bridge between two continents. Groups of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) from all over the world have begun to prepare for this important ecclesial event.

Panama City - 2018 - The "Valdocco of America" is a project that aims to transform the Basilica of Don Bosco of Panama into a center that irradiates the devotion to Don Bosco to all the young people of the continent.
Panama City, Panama - October 2017 - The Central American Regional School Commission (CERCA) held the National Meeting of Salesian Educators. Attended by around 140 teachers and coordinators, Sister Marianela Fernández Alfaro, FMA, introduced the theme of "Salesian Pedagogical Environment" for reflection. She highlighted the educational elements favoring the creation of a rich environment of proposals for the experience of Don Bosco's Preventive System in educational centers.
(ANS - Las Cumbres) - The Inter-America Region is formed by 13 Salesian Provinces from 17 countries. Attending this Second Meeting of the Region's Salesian Youth Movement: the Provincial Animators of the Youth Ministry together with their teams directing the most important areas of the Salesian mission. Participants arrived from the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
(ANS - Panama City) – "With joy, I announce that the next World Youth Day will be in Panama in 2019," said Pope Francis at the end of WYD 2016 in Krakow, Poland. A WYD in Panama is a dream that has been sought since the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the diocese of Santa Maria Antigua, the very first diocese of continental America. On 3 July, the Official Anthem of Panama's WYD 2019, number XXXIV, was presented; its title: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word." (Lk 1,38)

The meeting was attended by 27 SF groups, represented by their leaders or by their respective delegates. Fr Eusebio Muñoz, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, reflects on this important meeting.
