(ANS- Ambato) - For almost 30 years, the Don Bosco Agricultural School in Ambato has been a large family where children who have experienced traumatic situations of violence can recover and exercise their rights, learn to live together and respect each other, and discover their abilities through workshops to continue studying and learning a profession. The ultimate goal of all this extensive work is family reintegration or the adoption of children in need, and to this end Salesians also work with families to create a loving and protective environment. Henri Tendetza is one of the beneficiaries to whom the Salesians are managing to give opportunities for the future.
(ANS - Madrid) - On May 9 and 10, families attending Salesian presences in the Spain-Saint James the Greater (SSM) Province had the opportunity to participate in two webinars where they worked on how to create a "Safe Environment," both in families and in Salesian homes.
(ANS - Mogliano Veneto) - More than 2,000 children and young people participated in the meetings of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) organized by the Salesian Province of Triveneto (INE) on February 26 and March 5. Two Sundays full of fun and an attractive educational proposal that was able to touch the hearts of the young people who participated and who became protagonists in the course of the events.
(ANS - Vatican City) - Just as after a fast one eats more to recover lost energy, so St. Peter's Square, after abstinence from crowded celebrations due to the pandemic, was filled yesterday, Easter Monday, April 18, 2022, with a flood of Italian teenagers - about 100,000, according to estimates - who came on pilgrimage to Rome from all the dioceses of the peninsula. It was Pope Francis himself, with the simple and engaging language he uses with teens, who used the metaphor of fasting at the opening of his friendly and fatherly address to the participants.
(ANS - Santo Domingo) - As part of the month for the prevention of abuse and mistreatment of children, the "Muchachos y Muchachas con Don Bosco" Network, an institution with a history of 35 years of work in favor of children and more vulnerable adolescents, promoted by the Antilles Province (ANT), launched the "Protect childhood" campaign, in order to prevent and raise awareness among the population of the Dominican Republic on a problem that is unfortunately very present in the country, if it is true, as the statistics report, that 62% of children and adolescents between 1 and 14 years of age are victims of abuse or maltreatment.
(ANS - San Paolo) - Education is a thing of the heart, said Don Bosco. It is an extremely appropriate paradigm to celebrate the 30 years of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA, in Portuguese), a set of rules of the Brazilian legal system aimed at the integral protection of children and adolescents, which in July celebrated its thirtieth anniversary.
