(ANS - Juba) - On February 4, Pope Francis invited Catholics, Christians and non-Christians to pray and fast for peace, especially for the populations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. Salesians and other groups of the Salesian Family, who for decades have been working in both countries, know that educating young people to be "good Christians and honest citizens" is the best investment to achieve peace. (ANS - Palabek) - On Saturday 3 February the Salesian community officially opened in the settlement of South-Sudanese refugees near Palabek, Uganda. Currently the Salesian community is made up of Fr Lazar Arasu and Fr Reddy Papi Gade, but soon there will also be Fr Ubaldino Andrade and Fr Albert Canisius.
(ANS - Palabek) - "On the feast day of Don Bosco, we inaugurated with the Christians of one of the seven communities, the Salesian center in the refugee camp of Palabek, Uganda," says Fr Martín Lasarte, of the Salesian Missions Sector. "The official celebration, however, we will do on Saturday, 3 February, in the presence of the authorities of the camp and Msgr. John Baptist Odama, archbishop of Gulu."
(ANS – Busan) – Thomas Taban Akot, a Don Bosco Past Pupil of Don Bosco School Tonj, South Sudan, is an international student at Inje University-Medical College in Busan, Korea. He graduated from the medical college and passed his Medical Licensing Examination in Korea. Fundamental in his fundamental professional and human journey was the meeting with Fr. John Lee Tae-Suk (1962-2010), a doctor and a Salesian.

(ANS – Cebu City) – Br. Tony Hopida is a Salesian Coadjutor of the South Philippines Province (FIS). At 77 years of age, of which 58 as Salesian, he shares the richness of his Salesian, consecrated and lay identity.
April 1, 1934: Don Bosco, father and teacher of youthful holiness, declared saint
On 1 April, 84 years ago, then also Easter, Pope Pius XI proclaimed Saint Don Bosco a saint. Thus ended the long process of beatification and canonization, begun in Turin on 4 June 1890.

The seminar's theme is digital marketing: "Technology at the service of the mission."
Ghana – A warm welcome, education, fraternal love: Salesian charism in action
(ANS - Accra) - Accra, the capital of Ghana, located on the Gulf of Guinea, is a metropolis of 5 million inhabitants. In its metropolitan area, at Ashaiman, the Salesians animate two houses. The presence of the spiritual Sons of Don Bosco in the country then develops through two other communities, namely in the locality of Sunyani, about 400 km north-west of the capital. In both cities, as well as in the new center of Tatale, the Salesians work at the service of children and young people, especially the most in need.
