Palabek, Uganda - April 2018 – Here the pastoral activities are led by Fr Ubaldino Andrade, one of the Salesian missionaries of the new Salesian center in the Palabek Refugee Camp, which welcomes about 36,000 refugees from South Sudan.
Don Bosco has arrived in the refugee camp of Palabek, Uganda. This is good news of the RESURRECTION OF THE LORD.
(ANS - Namugongo) – There has been a center in the city of Namugongo since 2001, namely the "Children and Life Mission" (CALM), founded by two Comboni Missionaries and a Jesuit, that welcomes and supports vulnerable children. In 2006 the center was entrusted to the Salesians, thus becoming the Congregation's fourth mission in the African country. The Sons of Don Bosco have also associated the activity of hosting children at risk with providing education through a primary school; with greater support, it may be expanded and further improve its services.
(ANS - Bombo) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, arrived at the Salesian Headquarters yesterday, Sunday 18 March, after 5 intense days spent in his Animation Visit to the Africa-Great Lakes Vice Province (AGL) and a long journey started on Saturday 17.
(ANS - Palabek) - Last year, through a letter, the Rector Major of the Salesians recalled that over a million people from South Sudan are currently refugees in Uganda and invited the Salesians to go to them, to work with them and for them. This is why today missionaries of different nationalities now animate the new Salesian presence in the refugee camp of Palabek.

Pakistan - Br. Nhat, SDB, and his testimony as Salesian Brother
(ANS – Quetta) – After 20 years there are already seven Pakistani Salesians, but not yet any local Salesian Brother. Vietnamese missionary Br. Francis Nhat is the only Salesian Brother who belongs to the Pakistan Delegation.
April 1, 1934: Don Bosco, father and teacher of youthful holiness, declared saint
On 1 April, 84 years ago, then also Easter, Pope Pius XI proclaimed Saint Don Bosco a saint. Thus ended the long process of beatification and canonization, begun in Turin on 4 June 1890.
RMG - Salesians: increasingly convinced of the importance of technology at the service of the mission
(ANS - Rome) - "Do not be afraid of becoming a citizen of the digital environment." This was the invitation by Pope Francis, spoken on the occasion of his first message for the World Communications Day, in 2014, to motivate the Sector for the Missions of the Salesian Congregation to organize a first seminar on "digital marketing", its theme: "Technology at the service of the mission." An appointment, held during the third week of April, which received comments of satisfaction from many participants.
Ghana – A warm welcome, education, fraternal love: Salesian charism in action
(ANS - Accra) - Accra, the capital of Ghana, located on the Gulf of Guinea, is a metropolis of 5 million inhabitants. In its metropolitan area, at Ashaiman, the Salesians animate two houses. The presence of the spiritual Sons of Don Bosco in the country then develops through two other communities, namely in the locality of Sunyani, about 400 km north-west of the capital. In both cities, as well as in the new center of Tatale, the Salesians work at the service of children and young people, especially the most in need.
