(ANS - Rome) - The 31st World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland (26 to 31 July 2016) is getting closer. The theme is: "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Mt 5,7). Its pastoral spirit and youthful joy make it a perfect fit with the World Day of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) which will be celebrated on July 27.
(ANS – Rome) – The Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime SDB, will visit Belarus from 8 to 11 July. During his visit, the Rector wants first and foremost to meet and get acquainted with his Salesian Confreres from Belarus, to talk to them, hear the joys and concerns they meet in the implementation of the Salesian charism in Belarus and, of course, give some fatherly advice and support to his spiritual sons. Fr Ángel will also have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Salesian communities working in Belarus.
(ANS - San José) - In 1846 Don Bosco was present during the execution of a man condemned to death. Don Bosco had earlier heard his confession and given him communion. At the moment of execution Don Bosco lost consciousness and fainted. This experience marked his life and he decided to work to ensure that no young person would end up in jail. The world is full of risks and millions of young people are at risk, and if schools do not implement good projects, generations of young people will be lost.
Bolivia - Roswitha Maus (Don Bosco World): "We are looking for projects that favor children and young people in precarious conditions"
(ANS - Cochabamba) - Roswita Maus is the Project Manager of the Salesian NGO "Don Bosco Mondo", based in Bonn, Germany. Recently Roswitha visited the Salesian Province of Bolivia to learn about projects funded by the NGO and others they are looking to start.

The Fourth World Day of Prayer and Reflection against Human Trafficking, taking place a few days ago, is not simply a desire to mark or discuss the subject, but a commitment to raise awareness on an issue that hurts, makes many suffer, an issue that kills, destroys people.
