(ANS – Manta) – The expression “we cannot solve everything” resounds in the hearts of all those who watch the dreadful images of the earthquake in Ecuador. Even though it is not possible to do great things, “we can help in some way”. The post-seism reality is sad and devastating. Mr Marcelo Mejia, the Delegate for Social Communication of the Province of Ecuador, commented on the phone: “I am going to Manta. They asked us to bring masks, because of the sickening smell, due to the dead, the litter, the stagnant water”. We cannot remain indifferent, we must pray, the Pope asked, so that “the help of God and of brethren may give them strength and support”.

I was impressed by the film on Don Bosco. I said to myself, ‘That is the type of priest I would like to be.’” This is the Vietnamese Salesian missionary Joseph Tran Van Lich.

(Jorge Drexler, Movimiento, 2017)
Young people always move towards unprecedented possibilities, unsuspected futures. But beyond physical mobility and territorial displacement, young people show a great capacity for flux or change and mobilization in current societies, strengthened by new communication technologies, and networks.
