(ANS - Madrid) – "Solidarity is the human value par excellence." You can hear this being said in the corridors and playgrounds, in churches and schools, among groups and families. And what is Sister Africa? (ANS - Sydney) - The purpose of global youth events such as World Youth Day (WYD) is not to offer individual spiritual experience but to raise questions for young people, lead them to search, and then grow through appropriate programmes. In Australia, the Salesian Family has been able to draw fruit from these experiences and has begun a programme with some young people, who have created the group "Australian Salesian Youth Mentors" (ASYM) which has recently become "Australian Salesian Youth Community "(ASYC).

What do the young people of the Salesians think?
A few days ago I saw a group of young people in St. Peter's Square in Rome with the flag of one of our Salesian schools. I was struck by the affectionate and cheerful relationship of the children with their teachers and, on the contrary, by the coldness with which they treated the Salesian who was with them: they did not talk to him, they did not approach him ... The Salesian walked alone. For them, he did not exist, he was a ghost.
