(ANS - Addis Ababa) - Ethiopia is a country in East Africa, where the roots of Christianity date back to the fourth century. Its capital is Addis Ababa, a city where the centre is surprising for the contrast between the luxury shopping centres and skyscrapers, on the one hand, and the miserable hovels which are located beside the tram lines under construction, on the other.
(ANS - Benediktbeuern) - "The Salesian world is wonderful." So said the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, on his arrival on German soil on the evening of Saturday 26 November. Moldova - Fr Baracco: "being missionary" among the youngsters of Chisinău
(ANS - Chisinău) - "It's a very beautiful center because in my opinion it gathers all four elements of Don Bosco's house: a house that welcomes and hosts the needy, through the foster home; the playground, where one meets others and is educated; the school, with vocational training courses; and a church, thanks to our small parish, which counts only about forty Catholics," says Salesian missionary Fr Tiziano Baracco about the Salesian house of Chisinău, in Moldavia.
"Life is fragile, precious, unpredictable."
We are in the first weeks of a new year, which means a blank page wherein to write a new chapter in our lives. With the new year, one makes resolutions and looks at the calendar thinking about commitments to be made and forthcoming holidays to enjoy. Surely none of us would stop for a moment to think about the possibility of not reaching the end of the year...
Italy - Spirituality Days of Salesian Family: listening and accompaniment in the Salesian tradition
(ANS - Turin) – Step two of these current Salesian Family Days of Spirituality: a morning wherein participants gathered once again in the theater of Valdocco. In the spirit of Don Bosco, the good morning was marked by prayer animated by the novices of Pinerolo. The first part of the day focused on two presentations: the testimonies of Sister Paola Casalis, FMA, and of a young married couple, followed by the celebration of the solemn Eucharist presided over by Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop of Turin.
Spain - Salesians, busy with migrants and refugees: we welcome, protect, promote, integrate
(ANS - Madrid) – This new year Europe faces the same challenge of recent years: the refugee crisis. An unresolved problem that represents the tip of the iceberg of demographic movements. In the end, the challenge of welcoming and integrating migrants continues today. It is a challenge that cannot be foreign to the Church. In fact, for 104 years, it has promoted the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which was celebrated yesterday, Sunday, 14 January, under the motto: "Welcoming, Protecting, Promoting and Integrating Migrants and Refugees."

It is most certain that Don Bosco is alive today, alive in so many different realities where thousands and thousands of people carry his dream forward, in the name of Jesus. And he is still alive because he continues to be their inspiration.
