24 March 2017

(ANS - Rome) - On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome (25 March 1957), the founding moment of the European Union, a meeting of Heads of State and Government of the member countries is taking place in Rome. The members will be received by Pope Francis this afternoon, 24 March.

For this reason, civil society and NGOs from all over Europe are organizing a number of initiatives, both in Rome and in other cities, with demonstrations and marches in defence of the common project. Of particular note is an initiative which Don Bosco International has joined. The initiative has issued a statement: "We want a Europe that is just, sustainable, democratic and inclusive". It is supported by 230 organizations from across Europe.

It is time to defend the inclusion of all people, especially young people at risk.
