(ANS - Madrid) – Professor Carmen García Peña, Doctor of Canon Law and Professor at the University of Comillas in Madrid, was at the center of the work of the third day of the Salesian International Congress of Youth Ministry and Family - SYMFAMILY17. In her presentation, the professor put participants before the challenges of today's family and emphasized the need for proposals of a youth ministry capable of preparing the faithful for marriage.

The day concluded with the presentation of a number of experiences from different countries, with reflections by regions, and work within the programmed minicourses.

(ANS - Madrid) - The "International Youth Ministry and Family Congress" starts today, November 27, an event that brings together approximately 300 people - pastoral agents representing the Salesian world and the Provinces of the five continents - to reflect on the subjects of family and youth.
(ANS - Bollington) - The 13th General Assembly of the Salesian Youth Movement of Europe (SYM) took place from 17 to 19 November. The meeting was held at the Savio House in Bollington, Great Britain. This year's annual SYM Europe event was attended by 55 representatives from 14 European countries.
(ANS - Rome) – Definitely a prominent figure, Msgr Giuseppe Fagnano (Rocchetta Tanaro 1844 – Santiago del Cile 1916), member of the first Salesian Missionary Expedition (1875), the first Salesian director in Patagonia (1880), the first Salesian to land in the Tierra del Fuego (1886), the first and only Apostolic Prefect of Southern Patagonia, the Malvine Islands and the thousands of islands beyond the Magellan Strait (1883). To such a multifaceted character, the Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) and the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS) devoted an afternoon of study this past November 9.
(ANS - Madrid) - “Descriptions of Good Practices and Mini Courses” are published on the website of the International Youth Ministry and Family Congress. The courses will be offered to about 300 participants. Representing all the Provinces of the Salesian Congregation, participants are due to meet in Madrid from 27 November to 1 December, 2017.
(ANS - K'LONG) – Taking place in Vietnam, K'Long, two important meetings: for the Delegates of Social Communication (CS) and the Delegates for Youth Ministry (PG) of the Asia East-Oceania region. The participants met on Sunday, November 12, for a day of sharing and joint discussions.
(ANS – Vatican City) – Taking place at the Vatican from 27 to 29 October was the Congress “Re-Thinking Europe: Christian contributions to the Future of the European Project,” an event aiming to promote dialogue between high-level Church & political representatives on the fundamental challenges facing the European Project. Among the Congress's participants: His Holiness Pope Francis, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and several other Cardinals and representatives from all EU Bishops Conferences. EU institutions were also well-represented and included the European Parliament, via President Tajani and Vice-president McGuinness, and the European Commission, through Vice-president Timmermans, while the Salesian Family had five of its members taking part in the event.
(ANS - Jerusalem) - On October 28, the Studium Theologicum Salesianum (STS), Jerusalem Branch of the Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University, inaugurated its 2017-2018 academic year. Among the many participants, the Middle East Provincial, Fr Munir El Rai, and Fr Rosario Pierri, the new Dean of the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum (SBF). STS Principal, Fr Gustavo Cavagnari, opened the meeting, after which Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, delivered a lectio magistralis entitled: "Preparatory Document for the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops and the Salesian Youth Ministry – Points of Convergence."
