(ANS – Ahmedabad) – The Salesians of Don Bosco at Kapadvanj and Dakor organised the SYM [Salesian Youth Movement] Youth Unity Fiesta (Yuva Ekta Mahotsav) for the Diocese of Ahmedabad, in association with the “Indian Catholic Youth Movement Ahmedabad” (ICYM) and the “All Gujarat Students’ Development Movement” (AGSDM) at the Don Bosco Dakor Educational Complex on 19th and 20th January 2019. A total of 145 young adults participated at this festive extravaganza with the theme, “Holiness Means… Love of Self and Love of Neighbour.”
(ANS - Panama City) - Color, joy, music, dance ... And, at the same time, prayer, testimonies, moments of silence before the Blessed Sacrament ... The Feast of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) at the World Youth Day in Panama was all this. And more.
(ANS - Kunkujang) - On 19 January about 120 young people from 22 villages, located in the territory of the Salesian parish, arrived at "Kunkunjang Mariama" parish headquarters, to participate in the "One Day with Don Bosco" event, organized by the Salesian community established in that village just 3 months ago. The purpose of the day was to make Don Bosco known and loved and to encourage the participants to be young heralds of predilection for needy young people in their respective villages.
(ANS – Narukot) – The Salesians of Don Bosco working in the Rath Vistar region of Chhota Udepur, Kawant, Narukot organised the SYM [Salesian Youth Movement] Tribal Youth Forum at Don Bosco Narukot on 20th January 2019. Comprising a total of 96 tribal youth from Jalod, ChhotaUdepur, Narukot and Kawant, the theme for the occasion was “Don Bosco’s Missionary Zeal for the Tribal Peoples.”
(ANS – Rome) – From 14th to 16th January, Don Bosco International has had several meetings in the Central Headquarters of Salesian Congregation in order to present the institutional work developed in Brussels during 2018 towards the European Institutions and other important stakeholders based in Brussels.
(ANS - Lisbon) - "Dear young people, I shall go to Panama. I look forward to seeing you at the World Youth Day. The presence of our Salesian Youth Movement must be very special," said Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, in a message to all the participants of the WYD 2019. In fact, hundreds of young people from SYM will participate in this meeting, while other groups who will not be physically present will thus join this great event "at a distance" in every corner of the world. This is, for example, the case of Portugal.
(ANS – Rome) – Don Bosco was quite a professional “beggar”. He had to be, because he served young people in need. Salesians, today, have various structures around the world, which look for resources to sustain Don Bosco’s mission. From 16 to 20 January 2019 the Salesians hold a world conference of the leaders of such structures, in the “Domus Urbis” house in Rome. 90 persons are involved – 68 Salesians of Don Bosco, 1 Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, 12 women and 9 men. They come from 54 Provinces in 45 countries.
(ANS - Rome) - On 8 January, with a solemn concelebration presided by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, in the Basilica of the Sacro Cuore in Rome, the liturgical memorial of Salesian Blessed Titus Zeman was celebrated on the 50th anniversary of his death. In that same basilica, on 7 March 1938, the young Zeman had pronounced the vows of that perpetual profession that he would seal with his life given for the faith and for the salvation of vocations.
(ANS - Nashik) - The 13th "National Boscoree", the mega-gathering of Scouts and Salesian guides from India, ended on Thursday 3 January 2019 with a final parade at the Salesian Institute of Philosophy of Divyadaan, at Nashik. Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Councilor for the Salesian region of South Asia, presided over the closing ceremony.
(ANS – Nashik) – The 13th National Boscoree, a gathering of the Don Bosco Scouts and Guides, is being held from 30 December 2018 to 03 January 2019 in Nashik. It is organized by the Salesians of Don Bosco, with 4815 participants, and it is themed “Health, Harmony and Holiness”. The great event began with great pomp and fanfare on Sunday, 30th December, with all the participant and dignitaries gathered on the “Father Sean McFerran Parade Ground”, Divyadaan Salesian College of Philosophy. Ms Ann Choi, Salesian collaborator and the Deputy District Commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
