(ANS – Hyderabad) – The third continental seminar of ACSSA South Asia was held at the Provincial House of the Hyderabad Province between 22 and 24 June 2018,  with 16 participants comprising of 7 Salesians and 9 Salesian Sisters, representing four Salesian and the seven FMA provinces respectively.

(ANS – Los Palos) – As the EAO Salesian Brothers Congress which will be held in Vietnam is approaching, the Salesian brothers in the Vice-Province of Timor-Leste (TLS) got together for the pre-congress meeting. The meeting was held in the Salesian Community of Don Bosco Los Palos. The meeting was led by Fr. Manny Pinto, SDB, the provincial delegate for Formation. Aside from the 10 Salesians brothers and Salesian priest in-charge of various level of formation in the vice-province, the 25 pre-novices were also present in this formative encounter.

(ANS - Fátima) - The Portuguese bishops met in Fatima to address the theme of young people, youth ministry and vocations in the context of the forthcoming Synod of Bishops. On the agenda, issues related to accompaniment, faith, vocational discernment, the space that young people have in parish communities, the integration of young people and their contribution to evangelization. In support of the work of reflection of the Portuguese episcopate were Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, and Fr Mario Óscar Llanos, SDB, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Salesian Pontifical University.

(ANS – Mumbai) – Eighty teachers from four Salesian schools in the Mumbai district attended a workshop-seminar conducted by Father Francis Gustilo, SDB, and Joanna Marie Oliva, from the Philippines. It took place on June 11-12 at the Don Bosco Matunga campus in Mumbai. The event, organised by the Mumbai province, aimed to echo what both speakers shared during the Salesian International Congress on Youth Ministry and Family held in Madrid in November 2017.

(ANS - Panama City) - From 6 to 10 June, 2018, about 250 representatives of the youth pastoral offices of the Episcopal Conferences, Movements and Ecclesial Associations from all over the world met in Panama for the Second preparatory meeting for the next World Youth Day (WYD), to be held in Panama from 22 to 27 January, 2019. Representing the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) were Renato Cursi, of the Salesian Youth Ministry Department, and Sr. Maria del Carmen Indurán, Coordinator of the Youth Ministry of the Central South America Province, of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA).

(ANS – Kumgi) – June 14,1980, marks a milestone in the spread of the work and presence of Salesians in Melanesia, as it marks the arrival of the first group of Salesian missionaries in Papua New Guinea. So, June is a time for joy and plenty of gratitude as it recalls the Salesian Missionaries who have sacrificed their lives for a worthy course to whisper the Gospel. For this reason, starting this year the PGS Vice-Province decided to celebrate the Salesian Mission Day every first Friday of June.

(ANS - Velehrad) - From 3 to 5 June 2018, a conference on Fr Ignác Stuchlý, the founder of the Salesian work in the Czech Republic, took place in Velehrad, at the Marian basilica, Moravia's spiritual center. Under the guidance of Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of the Saints of the Salesian Family, and Dr Lodovica Maria Zanet, a Postulator collaborator, the Positio of the Servant of God, Fr Stuchlý, is currently in print in Rome and shall soon be delivered to the Vatican.

(ANS - Rome) – On nearing the celebration of the Synod of Bishops on "Youth, faith and vocational discernment", scheduled for next October, the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) and the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences "Auxilium" are organizing the International Congress "Youth and life choices: educational perspectives" in Rome, 20-23 September 2018. "Together with experts from all over the world of young people from various continents, we will see how the Salesian charism and the life experience of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello can teach something about the choices of life today," explained Fr Mauro Mantovani, UPS Rector.

(ANS - Cochabamba) - Under the guidance of the German Salesian NGO "Don Bosco Mondo" (DBM), based in Bonn, a process of empowering skills involving 20 American Provinces, both of the Salesians and of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, has begun.
