(ANS - Rome) - On December 22, the Council of Presidency of the Salesian Biblical Association (ABS) gathered at the Salesian Headquarters of the "Sacred Heart" in Rome. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect on the work done in the last two years and on the possible options to make communication between the ABS Councilors and with the Salesian biblicists across the world more fluid and effective.

(ANS - Kamuli) - On the occasion of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Coordination of Youth Ministry of the Salesian community of Kamuli, in Uganda, in the Vice Province of "Africa Great Lakes", organized a marathon that moved the entire city. Registration was open to all those who wanted to participate and to witness their interest in a very topical issue: "combating domestic violence". Consequently many young people, girls and boys of the oratory as well as students of the Salesian school, together with their families and simple sympathizers of Salesian work decided to join the initiative.

(ANS – Rome) – Every six months, the entire General Council open their arms and change their lifestyle, the result of two weeks spent with the new batch of provincials. This time there were nine new provincials from all five continents - one from Oceania, two from Asia, four from Europe, one from Africa and one from the Middle East. From December 2-14, the new provincials spent their time living, praying, eating and sharing together at Sacro Cuore in Rome with the complete community of the General Council and the St Joseph community.

(ANS – Brussels) – In the framework of the Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, taking place in Marrakech, Morocco, on 10 and 11 December 2018, there have been numerous conferences and activities wherein Salesian organisations have played an active role.

(ANS – Dimapur) –  The Annual  Conference and General Body Meeting of Don Bosco Higher Education in India (DBHEI) on the theme ''Nation's Progress in the Constitutional Way'' was inaugurated on 30th November 2018 at Don Bosco Institute for Development and Leadership (DBIDP), Dimapur - Nagaland. The Don Bosco Network of Higher Education has nearly 50 institutions of Excellence imparting education to the marginalized young.

(ANS - Ayagualo) - Don Bosco was not only an evangelizer-educator, but also a "born communicator". It is true that the Saint of the Youth did not write treatises on communication, nor on his educational system, but as Fr Javier Valiente, SDB, writes: "Don Bosco is a modern educator in his way of understanding communication in the educational field", why it is necessary to know this aspect of Don Bosco communicator. From November 27th to 29th, 30 people, responsible for Social Communication of Salesian works in the six Central American countries, met to reflect on two very topical issues: Don Bosco, a communicator, and knowing how to tell stories.

(ANS - Messina) - With the solemn prolusion of the Grand Chancellor of the Salesian Pontifical University, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, X Successor of Don Bosco, the 51st academic year of the “St Thomas Aquinas” Theological Institute was officially inaugurated on November 29.

(ANS – Hong Kong– Three years after the previous EAO new rectors formation session in K'Long (Vietnam) in November 2015, this time more than 60 new or already experienced rectors from 8 provinces of our region have come together in Hong Kong (Cheung Chau Don Bosco Retreat House) for five full days (November 25-29). This is the sixth rectors formation gathering since 2001, this time probably with the highest number of participants.

(ANS – Canlubang– A mild, overcast sky enveloped Don Bosco-Canlubang on November 10, 2018, as the Salesians from the different settings of the Philippine North Province (FIN) gathered once more in order, not just to celebrate the memory of the departed Salesians who have worked in the FIN Province, but also to gather for two important events, namely the presentation of the Youth.Com, spearheaded by the Province’s Commission on Youth Ministry (CYM), and the Salesian Assembly on Vocation Empowerment or aptly known as SAVE 2, facilitated by the Province Vocation Director Fr Jayson David SDB.

(ANS - Rome) - On Tuesday 20 November 2019, at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), the assembly of the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS) took place, in which the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime took part. On this occasion, participants talked about the current situation of the ISS and the prospects for its future.
