(ANS - Vatican City) - The XXVI edition of the Vatican Christmas Concert will take place on December 15th in the Paolo VI Hall. The presentation took place on Tuesday, October 23, in the Sala Marconi of Palazzo Pio, in the Vatican. The Salesian missions are once again involved: in fact, one of the two solidarity projects linked to the concert is "Missioni Don Bosco" of Turin in favor of refugees in the refugee camp in Palabek, Uganda.

(ANS - Rome) - From October 25 to 28, the Association of Salesian Cooperators will hold its 5th World Congress at the "Fraterna Domus" of Rome-Sacrofano, with about 330 representatives of 80 nations from every continent participating. The theme of the Congress is the need of the Salesian Cooperators to "be co-responsible to respond to the new challenges of the world."

(ANS - Tlaquepaque) – Taking place from 12 to 14 October was the first edition of the "Salesian Campus: Catechesis and Formation in the Faith" at the “Salesian Superior Institute” and the Salesian House of Pastoral Services of Tlaquepaque. The event, organized by the Youth Ministry of the Mexico-Guadalajara Province (MEG), EDEBÉ publishing house and the Salesian Catechist Mothers (ENCASA), aimed at encouraging catechists to recognize themselves as educators and companions in the faith via integral and comprehensive work experiences that combine pedagogical tools, the Salesian charism and the sharing of experiences.

(ANS – Rome) – On the 9th of October 2018 members and partners of the Don Bosco Network (DBN), including the Councilor for Missions Fr Guillermo Basanes, Economer General Bro Jean Paul Muller, and the Coordinator of Mission Offices Fr George Menamparampil, met at the DBN headquarters in Rome for the Development Cooperation Working Group meeting.

(ANS - Panama City) - The Don Bosco Technical Institute, in the framework of the 60th anniversary since its foundation, hosted Salesian delegations from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, gathering in Panama City on October 3 and 4 to celebrate the XIII Congress of Technical-Professional Training.

(ANS - Péliföldszentkereszt) - From 4 to 7 October, in the Salesian house of Péliföldszentkereszt, Hungary, the annual European meeting of Salesian Presidents and Delegates of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco took place. The meeting is one of the first activities of Don Bosco's Past Pupils in the country, and was carried out precisely to support the start of the association in Hungary. Leading the works was the World President, Michal Hort, with the support of the Confederal Council team. Also present were the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, Fr Eusebio Muñoz, and representatives of the provinces of Ukraine and the Middle East.

(ANS - Rome) - Presided over by the Rector Major of the Salesians and Grand Chancellor of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), the inauguration of the 2018-2019 academic year of the UPS took place on 11 October. Returning to the motto chosen by the institution for the new year - "Making culture, at the service of young people, of the Church and of society" - Fr Á.F. Artime indicated several guidelines for making culture and being true teachers for one's students.

(ANS - Rome) - Thursday, October 11, at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome, the new academic year will be inaugurated, characterized, as a general objective, by the theme: "Doing culture, at the service of young people, the Church and society."

(ANS - Mogofores) - On September 26, the 80th anniversary of the Salesian presence in the city was celebrated in Mogofores. The day was heralded as both festive and solemn from the very beginning, the celebration however maintaining a sober and discreet profile. And there were no lack of surprises.

(ANS - Rome) - "Just as Don Bosco took care of the most vulnerable children, the last, we too grasp his teaching, so we cannot ignore those who face terrible journeys on their own, run away from situations of war or extreme poverty and arrive in our country without any protection." To reaffirm the commitment of the Salesians for the most vulnerable children, those alone and without reference points, was Fr Daniele Merlini, Director of the Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco, intervening last September 25 at the conference "A network of protections. Unaccompanied foreign minors, voluntary guardians and family custody."
