Religious freedom: the 2019 report

From the report “Persecuted more than ever. Focus on anti-Christian persecution between 2017 and 2019", realized by the Pontifical Foundation Aid to the Church in Need, shows that:

Nearly 300 million Christians live in lands of persecution;
20 countries in the world are extremely worrying as regards human rights violations;

In 2019, 18 priests and a nun were killed, 15 in Africa;
In Burkina Faso 3 priests were killed (among them we remember the Salesians Fr Fernando Hernández and Fr Antonio César Fernández);
Even in Asia striking attacks have occurred, such as in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday in which 258 people died.
