(ANS - Negombo) - From the mountains of Trentino surrounding Rovereto, his hometown, to the Himalayas of Bhutan, to the waters of the Indian Ocean alongside Negombo, the city of Sri Lanka where he serves the neediest children, especially the young victims of abuse and violence: it is the 45-year journey in the missionary life of Br. Gabriele Garniga, Salesian Coadjutor.
(ANS - Brno) – One's own vocational journey, the current state of the Salesian charism for Europe, the Salesian response to the challenges of migration ... Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime discussed this and other issues with the local youth in Brno a few weeks ago during his animation visit to the Czech Republic. Below, a few extracts from their conversation:
(ANS - Catania) - "When a group of teachers gets together, for sure they're speaking ill of their students ... That's why I avoid them. At recess, I prefer staying with the kids, living the Salesian dimension of the playground, the hallways. You get to know about students in a different way compared to when you're in front of them in the classroom." Pronouncing these words is Marco Pappalardo, a 41-year-old teacher of Literature and educator from Catania, who grew up in the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM).
