(ANS – Rome) – It is called “Post-Chapter Reflection” instead of “Chapter Document”, as has been the custom, given that the General Chapter Assembly had not approved this document. GC28, instead, asked the Rector Major and his Council to accept the request to bring the work begun by the Assembly to a good conclusion. The purpose of these post-Chapter reflections, however, is the same: to guide the life of the Salesian Congregation over the six years from General Chapter 28 until the next Chapter in 2026. We are talking about the official document that the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will officially release next Sunday, 16 August, on the 205th anniversary of Don Bosco’s birth.
(ANS - Ho Chi Minh City) - He did not participate in the 28th General Chapter and due to the Covid-19 restrictions, he still resides in Vietnam. But as regards his new position Fr Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, the new Councilor for the East Asia-Oceania region, has very clear ideas. And today he illustrates them to us.
(ANS - Port Louis) - "To give a human, religious and professional formation, to offer work and dignity to young people who are the most beautiful part of this island." This is the dream of Fr Maurizio Rossi, on a mission in the center of the Indian Ocean, in the archipelago of the Mauritius Islands. As a good spiritual Son of Don Bosco he has an eye towards the poorest disadvantaged children, those who "are rejected and marginalized because they are Creoles and children of poor families."
