(ANS – Anisakan) – Founded in 1957, the Nazareth Aspirantate in Anisakan is considered to be the “Valdocco” of Myanmar, the Mother House of the Salesians. A dynamic SDB community – made up by the Rector, Fr Bosco Zeya Aung, and 7 confreres including three practical trainees – is serving the quasi-parish of Mary Help of Christians and the boarding school “Nazareth Aspirantate”, with more than 170 boys from Grade 7-10. During last two years Nazareth has also become a venue for “domestic” missionary volunteers. Here Fr Zeya Aung shares his opinion about the good opportunity of the “domestic volunteers”.

The pandemic from Covid-19 has been recently added to the list of issues, with the additional difficulties deriving from lockdown and the stop to all activities. The Salesian missionary Fr Nicola Ciarapica, 72 years old, active for 30 years in the African region, offers a detailed picture of the current challenges.
