INTERVIEWS

(ANS – Turin) – Although General Chapter 28 concluded more than one month ago, at the moment 46 “survivors” (provincials and delegates) of GC28 are still living, working, praying and witnessing to their Salesian vocation at Valdocco. Most of them are GC28 delegates from South Asia - India, some from Latin America of from Eastern Europe, including also one PGS delegate and 3 Salesians from East Timor. Here Fr Robinson Parappilly, PGS Province Delegate to GC28, shares his experience.

(ANS - Montevideo) - Nobody escapes the impact of the coronavirus, but the most vulnerable feel the consequences of this evil that afflicts all humanity even more. Five months ago, when programs were still being made which would then be compulsorily abandoned, the CAIF (Mother and Child Care Center) "Mamma Margherita" was born on the premises of the "Domenico Savio" Institute in the Ituzaingó neighborhood. And although the regulations won't allow them to accommodate children and their families during the quarantine, the team of educators has not stopped accompanying them and continues to be attentive to their multiple needs. This is what the coordinator, Camila Gil tells us.

(ANS - Tivoli) - Mother Graziella Benghini, Superior General of the Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart, after the communication that Pope Francis has given consent to the opening of the Cause of Beatification of Msgr. Giuseppe Cognata, SDB, (1885-1972) Bishop of Bova and Founder of their Congregation, gave this interview.

(ANS - Rome) - There are many issues the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the whole Salesian Congregation, will have to pay attention to, following the conclusion of the 28th General Chapter. In recent months, the focus has been almost entirely devoted to the coronavirus pandemic, but the work of the Congregation has not stopped. A new six-year term begins for the Rector Major, full of opportunities, but also challenges. The Successor of Don Bosco spoke to the weekly Alfa y Omega in a long interview we report on in the third and final part.
