(ANS) – The latest book by Fr Gildasio Mendes, the Salesian Congregation’s General Councillor for Social Communication, entitled “Don Bosco and Digital Reality” was launched on 23 April during the second day of the International Meeting of Salesian Bulletin Editors held in Turin. The book is the result of collaboration by various people, including Margherita Ferro and Fabrizio Emigli, who were interested in the revision of the text and creating the cover respectively. The Salesian Network Brazil (RSB) interviewed Fr Gildasio Mendes to discuss the book and the different aspects of communication and digital reality.

(ANS – New Rochelle) – Later this month, Fr. Thomas Pallithanam, who has served as the Salesian Representative at the United Nations (U.N.) for nearly five years, will head back to his home Province in India. Fr. Thomas first arrived in the SUE Province in October 2018. During his time here as the Salesian Representative at the U.N., Fr. Thomas has strengthened the Salesian presence at the U.N. and opened several doors for them. He has worked diligently and passionately to have the Salesians be present at the U.N. in Geneva, Vienna, and various other centers.

(ANS– Rome) – On the occasion of World Youth Day (WYD) to be held in Lisbon from 1 to 6 August, there are numerous initiatives proposed by Salesian communities for those who will be going to it. Fr Marco Cimini, a Salesian and educator at the Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco in Rome, testifies: “I am convinced that young people are like sponges that must be educated.”
