Bogotá, Colombia - September 2019 - On 31 August and 1 September the patronal feast of the "Divine Child Jesus" was celebrated in the "20 July" district of Bogotá. With great joy, thousands of parishioners and pilgrims from far and wide gathered at the parish-sanctuary of the "Child Jesus" to express their gratitude for the graces received. On August 31, the day before the feast, after military honors, floats were paraded, with fireworks, music and songs. On 1 September, the Eucharist was celebrated in the parish square at the end of a procession with the painting of the "Child Jesus". The Mass was presided by Msgr. Julio Solórzano, Episcopal Vicar of San José, archdiocese of Bogotá, and concelebrated by Fr John Jairo Gómez, Superior of the Salesian Province of Bogotá (COB), and by Fr Édgar Palacios, director and parish priest, together with several Salesians from the local community.
