Cebu, Philippines - April 2023 - From April 13 to 15, the Salesians of the Province of the Southern Philippines (FIS) participated in the International Conference of Youth Ministry (ICYM) that was held at the "Loyola" School of Theology and organized in collaboration with the "Don Bosco" School of Theology. The conference, which was attended by a large representation of Salesians from the FIS Province, focused on the theme "Journeying with Youth" and featured three days of study aimed at learning about the Church's vision, principles and best practices in youth ministry. In addition, several workshops were held highlighting the different cultures of Asia and the Pacific, and all the new insights gained during these days will serve as a new input to improve youth ministry practices in the province.

Chertsey, Great Britain - April 2023 - Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh visited the "Cullum Centre" of the Salesian school in Chertsey on April 18. The center houses the program of studies aimed at children with autism spectrum disorders, who receive personalized education here in safe environments close to their homes. The Royal Highness, who has been a Patron of the program since 2003, spent time with staff and students during her visit, visiting classrooms and taking part in art and cooking classes and some language games. Accompanying the Duchess were Caroline Stevens, Director General, Ros Pool, Director of the "Cullum Centre," Nicholas Wood Dow, Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey, and Paul Gower, Principal of the Salesian School in Chertsey.

Sydney, Australia - April 2023 - On the morning of April 21, Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, landed in Sydney, where he was welcomed by the Superior of the Salesian Province of Australia-Pacific (AUL), Fr. William Matthews, his Vicar, Fr. Peter Hoang, and a delegation of Salesians. The Rector Major began with a Eucharistic celebration of the eight-day visit to Australia, aimed at sharing the joy of the centenary of Salesian presence in the country (1923-2023) with local Salesians and the Salesian Family. The program is full of meetings, celebrations and moments of sharing in the various Salesian presences in the country.

Manaus, Brazil - April 2023 - A solemn session in honor of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Joseph and its social works was held on April 14 at the "'Plenaria Adriano Jorge" hall of the Manaus Municipal Chamber. The proposal was made by Councilor Daniel Amaral de Vasconcelos, who paid tribute to the shrine in the person of its pastor, Fr. Jose Ivanildo, SDB. The event was attended by agents and pastoral leaders, as well as a children's choir who also performed for the occasion. According to Amaral, the tribute was decided to highlight the shrine's work on behalf of the Amazonian people. The shrine, which began as a social activity, has been associated with the Salesian Industrial School since the 1940s, with the goal of evangelization and education on a human and professional level. The 75th anniversary celebrations began last Feb. 5, the date of issuance of the episcopal decree that gave rise to the parish, and more social and commemorative activities are planned in the near future.
