Campo Grande, Brazil - November 2022 - On November 21, the Rector of the Don Bosco Catholic University (UCDB), Fr. José Marinoni, received the highest honor bestowed on individuals by the government of the State of South Mato Grosso: the insignia of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit. For the occasion, 40 prominent figures from politics, the arts, business, and society at large received the decorations designated by the Council of the Order of Merit of the Mato Grosso of the South, chaired by Governor Reinaldo Azambuja. The event was held in the Bioparque auditorium and was attended by various dignitaries from the University. "I want to thank the Governor and members of the Council for the award. I receive this tribute as recognition from the authorities for the work done by the Salesians. (...) This recognition goes to all those Salesians who have worked, dedicated themselves and given their lives for teaching, education, and to those who continue to walk the same path. Congratulations to the Salesians, the 'Dom Bosco College,' the UCDB, and the Salesian Mission," said Fr. Marinoni.

Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo - November 2022 - The Salesian Province of Central Africa (AFC), organized a meeting for Rectors of works from November 21-23. Initially scheduled in Goma, the session was held at the Salesian theologate in Lubumbashi, due to the precarious security conditions in Goma and surrounding areas, which also resulted in the non-participation of the Rectors from the eastern part of the country. During the various sessions chaired by Fr. Guillermo Basañes, AFC Provincial, together with the Provincial Council, the Rectors of the communities in the southern part of the Province analyzed various themes on the elaboration of the specific tools of Salesian pastoral action. The guidelines and directives on spiritual accompaniment and the elaboration of the scrutiny placed each Rector before the great responsibility of his service. The Rectors also addressed the issue of the "Digital World," where the Salesians of the AFC Province, must be active for the mission of educator-pastors. In addition, the Provincial Economer presented the Provincial Solidarity Procedure Manual.

Fatumaca, Timor-Leste- November 2022- The Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) of the TLS Vice-Province held its 3th National Congress on November 18 to 20, 2022 at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Fatumaca. The congress focussed on the theme “LIKE MARY WE WALK WITH JESUS.” On the first day of the meeting, the current president delegate of ADMA in the TLS Vice-Province, Fr. Manuel Da Silva Ximenes, SDB welcomed all the participants at the place during his introduction remarks then Sr. Lucrécia, FMA (In Charge of Salesian Family), gave a short message. During these three days of congress there were sessions of talks. The first speaker was Sr. Esmeralda Soares, FMA. She presented a conference on the strenna of the Rector Major. Inspired by the strenna, the speaker then reminded the participants to do everything with love nothing through constrain. This three days of congress must be the opportune time to energize ourselves for the mission we are going to do in our life as a member of the association, stressed the speaker. 

Malta – November 2022 - On the 12th of November, The National Federation of the Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco, organized a dissemination event on a project: ‘Sea and Coast, Lakes and Shores - Conquering Stress, Anxiety and Grief’. This project is co-funded by Erasmus+ in collaboration with partners from Slovakia, Belgium, Italy, and Malta. For this dissemination event youth organizations, helping professionals and volunteers working with youths were invited to this event. Mr. Louis Debono, operations manager, and Mr. Matthew Gatt Seretny, researcher of the project, presented an informative toolkit related to the project. The toolkit consists of an overview about grief, anxiety, and stress, following several activities related to the sea and its coast, lakes and shores which help youths cope with grief, anxiety, and stress. Mr. Debono gave an overview of the project activities that took place throughout the whole year, whilst Mr. Gatt Seretny discussed the research done to get the results of the toolkit.
