K'Long, Vietnam - October 2022 - The annual retreat of the Salesian Cooperators of Vietnam was held on October 2, accompanied by Fr. Barnabas Le An Phong, SDB, Vietnam Provincial (VIE), Fr. Peter Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, by Salesian Br. Martin Bui Van Luan, Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family, members of the Provincial Council of Salesian Cooperators of Vietnam, Fr. Joseph Tran Van Hien, Rector of the K'Long community, and several Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. During the celebration of the Mass, presided over by the VIE Provincial, 41 new Salesian Cooperators took their vows.

São Paulo, Brazil - September 2022 - National Councilors for Youth Ministry and the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) met Sept. 16-18 for a formation meeting and to discuss upcoming projects for Salesian Youth, both of the Congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). The meeting was held in the FMA headquarters of the Province of "Our Lady of Aparecida" in São Paulo. During the days of the meeting, counselors and reference persons received formation on biblical themes and reflections on mission and presence among young people, based on the Final Document of the Synod of Bishops, published in 2018, "Youth, Faith, and Vocational Discernment." The meetings focused on the next steps for youth ministry and SYM with the planning of meetings and activities for the 2023 calendar and addressing the importance of structuring regional and local councils in the Provinces of Brazil. In this sense, the action plans of the SYM were also discussed in light of the Three-Year Plan for Youth Ministry in Brazil (2022-2025), prepared by the Brazilian Bishops' Conference, the Guiding Principles of Salesian Youth, and the documents of the last SDB and FMA General Chapters. Projects to be implemented also included preparation for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the SYM in Brazil.

Kolkata, India – October 2022 - Salesian Province of St. John Bosco, Kolkata, inaugurated its Provincial Chapter 2022, themed “the profile of the Salesian for the Youth of Today,” here at Nitika Don Bosco on October 02, 2022. Most Rev. Thomas D’Souza, the Archbishop of Kolkata, presided over the Holy Eucharist along with 72 chapter members. Before the provincial chapter, the members were spiritually animated for half a day by Fr. James Mathew SDB. At the inaugural mass, Archbishop Thomas D,souza welcomed the Salesians to the Archdiocese of Kolkata and invited the chapter members to grow in faith and love based on the gospel readings, “Lord Increase our faith.”

Calama, Chile - September 29, 2022 - The Don Bosco School in Calama inaugurated a modern set of state-of-the-art technical equipment dedicated to fostering the knowledge of Unconventional Renewable Energies (ERNC). Specifically for solar and wind energy, the equipment includes two machines, one of German origin, purchased thanks to the financial support and commitment of the Arturo Irarrázaval Correa Foundation, and another Chilean one, obtained with its own funds. A modern passenger vehicle was also blessed, which will be used for the professional services and pedagogical needs of the educational center's student body. The ceremony was attended by students from the Electrical and Industrial Mechanics courses, who will be the direct beneficiaries of this ERNC educational project. During the ceremony, the rector, Fr. Juan Bustamante, SDB, addressed a few words, inviting the young people to "put their gifts at the service of God's creation," adding that He "has put Creation at the service of man, so that he can use it prudently and wisely."
