Shillong, India – October 2022 - The Mary Queen of Peace Parish Mawjrong, Laitkroh, Meghalaya, hosted the 44th Provincial Congress of the Association of Salesian Cooperators of St. John Paul II province of Shillong (INS) on the 16th October 2022. It was organized by the team of Cooperators led by Mr. Nicholas Nongtdu, the Provincial Secretary of St. John Paul II Province Shillong (INS). The 400 Salesian cooperators from the 21 centers of the INS province, together with Sr. Cristina Kharkongor FMA, the FMA Provincial Delegate, participated in the event which was inaugurated by the Hoisting of the Flag by Rev. Fr. G.K. Warbah SDB the Parish Priest along with Mrs. Benita Marbaniang, the Provincial Coordinator (INS) at 10.00 am on Saturday. The Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Tobias Kharngapkynta, the Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Parish, Upper Shillong, had the theme of the congress “Do all through love, nothing through constraint”. During the Homily he appreciated and praised the work of the Salesians during the past 100 years. During the holy Eucharist four new cooperators from different centres made the promise and all others renewed their promises as members of the Association of the Cooperators of Don Bosco. The August assembly was animated by the key note address delivered by Rev. Fr. Joseph Anikuzhikattil SDB, the Provincial Delegate, for the Salesian Family. The assembly consisting of delegates from the five regions of the province decided to make sure that in the coming year they will work towards achieving holiness of each member and of their families through a life of communion and love, as well as greater awareness of God’s presence in their daily life.

Suva, Fiji - October 2022 - As part of his ongoing Extraordinary Visit to the Australia-Pacific (AUL) Province, the Councilor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, Fr. Joseph Phuoc, arrived in Suva, Fiji, on October 17. During his address to the Salesian community, Fr Phuoc highlighted the importance of the communion of the various presences with the Salesian Province and Congregation, and communion with the youth. The Regional Councilor urged the community to reflect on the GC28 theme "What kind of Salesians for today's youth?" and spoke about the Salesian Sacrament of Presence, joint work with lay and mission collaborators, formation in mission, and ongoing formation. Fr. Phuoc visited the Don Bosco Oratory and Youth Center and met with young people, being moved by the conversation with some of them who emphasized the presence of Salesians wherever young people are.

Amatitán, Mexico - October 2022 - From October 12 to 16, Delegates for Missionary Animation (DIAM) of America met in Amatitán to reflect on missionary animation on the continent. The meeting experienced some important points, including the analysis of the strategic plans of the DIAMs of the different countries, missionary formation for Salesians, and other relevant documents of the sector, as well as the development of an operational strategic plan to work in a network in order to help the accompaniment of DIAMs. It should be noted that DIAMs have been meeting virtually for two years: this has helped provide support and recognition for the importance of networking. During the meeting, there was also an analysis of the current state and strategic plans of each province, and Fr. Alfred Maravilla, General Councilor for Missions, spoke with a lecture based on the minutes of the General Council concerning the importance of the missionary charism in the Salesian Congregation. The talk inspired the participants to take new steps.

Recife, Brazil - October 2022 - In harmony with the entire Salesian Congregation rejoicing over the canonization of Salesian coadjutor Artemide Zatti, the Recife Provincial House (BRE) celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for the gift of his holiness on Oct. 14. The Mass, which was presided over by Fr. João Carlos Ribeiro, BRE Provincial Vicar, was attended by most of the collaborators of the Provincial Center. Liturgical texts were used in the liturgy for the Memorial of the New Saint, which will be celebrated on November 13. In the collective prayer, God was asked that "through the intercession of St. Artemide Zatti, we may recognize and serve the face of Christ in our suffering brothers and sisters." The Mass, as has been the case every Thursday since the beginning of the pandemic, was also broadcast through the initiative of the "Amanhecer Missionary Association" (AMA) via radio and social media; and at the beginning of the celebration, in addition to briefly mentioning the biographical elements of the new saint, a two-minute video summarizing his life was also shown.
