Kazincbarcika, Hungary - January 2017 - To celebrate the Feast of Don Bosco this year the Hungarian Salesian Youth Movement organized an entire weekend of activities. On the evening of Friday 27 January, Fr Claudius Misquitta and Fr Lytton Quadros gave some introductory ideas and led a Eucharistic vigil.  Saturday began with the Eucharist at which Fr Béla Ábrahám presided and during which four new Salesian Cooperators made their promise. The day continued with sports, art and music. The festivities ended on the Sunday with the parish Mass celebrated by the Vice-Provincial, Fr Vitalis Gábor.

Punto Fijo, Venezuela - January 2017 - On 31 January, the youth of the Centre for Professional Training of Punto Fijo (Edo Falcón) celebrated the feast of Don Bosco.

Colle Umberto, Italy - January 2017 - On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the death of the Servant of God Fr Constantine Vendrame SDB (1893-1957), some young people from the Group  "Witnesses of Don Vendrame", who are  promoting the  cause of the  beatification of their fellow citizen, met in Colle Umberto (Treviso) on 29-30 January with the Postulator, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni SDB and Bishop  Corrado Pizziolo  of Vittorio Veneto. They recalled Fr Vendrame as the "Gospel child" to whom God reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom and who brought about numerous conversions by his kindness.

Italy - Feast of Don Bosco

Turin, Italy – 31 January 2017 - On the feast of Don Bosco, in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians there was the solemn Mass of the Salesian Family, presided over by Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga, SDB, bishop of Tegucigalpa, and concelebrated by Fr Francesco Cereda , Vicar of the Rector Major, and Fr Enrico Stasi, Superior of the District of Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta. In his homily, the Salesian Cardinal stressed the original purpose of the Salesian Cooperator according to Don Bosco's heart: the commitment of the laity in the world for the education of young people on the path to holiness. During the celebration, one hundred new Salesian Cooperators from Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta made their promise.
