Três Lagoas, Brazil - July 2022 - After five intense months of studies and practical exercises, totaling 330 hours of activities, 137 teenagers participating in courses offered by the "Generando Futuro Project" received their certificates of participation. The project certifies that the teenagers attended courses in handicrafts, robotics, computer science, computer maintenance, bicycle mechanics, and wood use. "Generando Futuro" of Três Lagoas is a project developed and implemented through a collaboration between the company "Petrobras" and the Salesian Mission of Mato Grosso - Youth Center "Adolescent Jesus." The goal is to contribute to the economic and bio-psychosocial development of adolescents, youth, and adults in the municipality of Três Lagoas. The project has two hinges: the first, consisting of the vocational initiation courses for adolescents, ages 14 to 17, accompanied by sports practice; and the second, carried out through the vocational qualification courses for adults. It should also be added that both courses also include socio-environmental activities and that every action carried out at the institution aims to serve community members in vulnerable situations, to promote active citizenship and social integration.

Lawaan, Philippines - July 2022 - From July 3 to 9, the 10th Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of the Southern Philippines (FIS) was held at the "Don Bosco" Retreat House in Lawaan. It was attended by 28 Salesians, from ten different local communities, along with two lay observers and Fr. Fidel Orendain, FIS Provincial. The chapter was moderated by Salesian Fr. Rooney John Undar. It was a week of rigorous reflection, discernment and study on the life, direction and mission of the Province for the next 3 years. In fact, this Provincial Chapter focused on six specific points: deliberate on issues concerning the Province; decide on actions to be taken for the good functioning of the Province; study the post-Chapter reflections of the 28th General Chapter; address issues of immediate concern; identify the most appropriate means to promote religious and pastoral life; and study how to put into practice the guidelines given by the last General Chapter. With these objectives in mind, the Chapter was held with fruitful interactions and discussions among the chapter members.

Huambo, Angola - July 2022 - With the celebration of the Eucharist and the awarding of certificates to over 400 youth and adults, the 1st Don Bosco Method Literacy Course implemented by the Salesians in Huambo came to its conclusion. There are already over one hundred thousand youth and adults in Angola who have learned to read and write with this method. The Salesians, who arrived in Huambo 10 months ago, have already started adult literacy services so they can begin working in primary and secondary schools.

Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo - July 2022 - Last July 9, at the "Cité Des Jeunes" in Lubumbashi, a Salesian Coadjutor and seven cleric candidates made their perpetual profession as Salesians of Don Bosco in the hands of Fr. Guillermo Basañes, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Central Africa (AFC). Fr. Aurélien Mukangwa, Provincial Delegate for AFC-EST, and Jean Claude Ngoy Wa Kayumba, former AFC Provincial, concelebrated the Eucharist. The Salesian Coadjutor who made perpetual profession is Br. Gaëtan Lwamba, belonging to the AFC Province, while the seven cleric candidates are Cléophas Kikeluka, Jérémie Mboma and Salvator Kabeya, from the Africa Congo Province (ACC), and David Lukusa, Charles Lubo, Adrien Shindano and Patrice Kanyema, from the AFC Province.
