Cochabamba, Bolivia - July 2022 - On July 1 and 2 at the Salesian Work "Don Bosco - Fátima," the first meeting of the year of the youth of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) and Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) of Bolivia was held. The event was attended by about 50 people from Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, Sucre, La Paz, and El Alto. On the first day, the Salesians had in meeting with the Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry (YM) to define the working lines around the regional and local delegate's functions manual from the Salesian YM manual. The youth received training on the historical processes of SYM in Bolivia and the Salesian Charism during 2000-2021. Similarly, VTC facilitators and technicians also reflected on the historical gaze according to the Framework. In the afternoon, workshops were held focusing on: Sacraments, Salvation History, Don Bosco Preventive System, and Transversal Competencies. In the evening, participants experienced a time of adoration, confessions, and an associative activity to awaken creativity according to Salesian pedagogy. On the last day, the student directives of the VTCs were formed in a Salesian key and the manual of functions and programming of the SYM regions was reviewed to better collaborate with these sectors and environments in their Salesian identity and in co-responsibility with lay educators according to the Provincial Organic Plan and the Salesian Provincial Pastoral Educational Project 2021-2026. The goal thus was to take steps in Pastoral and Educational Synergy among the sectors and environments of social service for at-risk youth.

Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico - July 05, 2022 - For Salesians of Don Bosco, the first five years since priestly ordination and perpetual profession of Salesian Coadjutors are accompanied in a special way by the Congregation and the Provinces of residence of each Salesian. One of the most important moments is the week-long meeting called "Quinquennium," which this year, for the Salesians of the two Mexican Provinces -Mexico-Guadalajara (MEG) and Mexico-México (MEM) - took place from June 27 to July 1 in the former Salesian novitiate house of Chulavista, in Rivera de Chapala, in the state of Jalisco. On this occasion, participants experienced moments of vocational renewal, brotherly encounters, and formative updating. Three Salesian priests from the MEM Province and four Salesian priests and one Salesian coadjutor brother from the MEG Province participated. Fr. Filiberto González, SDB, MEG Provincial, accompanied the participants on Wednesday, June 27. While Fr. José Luis Plascencia, SDB, contributed extensive reflections on the field of theology and religious life and several interventions distributed during the week of the meeting. The contents reflected upon during this week were accompanied by moments of Eucharistic celebration, prayer, times for fraternity, and a walk. Moments like this motivated sharing among confreres and provoked the joy proper to the Salesian charism.

Madrid, Spain - July 2022 - On July 6, the "Allies for Integration Foundation" presented awards to companies, entities, and individuals who share the core values of social inclusion and contribute to building a better, fairer, and more equitable society. In the "Best Integration Initiative" category, the award went to the Salesians of the "Spain-Saint James the Greater" (SSM) Province, in recognition of their "Abriendo Puertas" (Opening Doors) program. The program represents a practical example of solidarity focused on providing opportunities to those who need them most. This initiative, which emerged after the complications caused by the pandemic for the more than 13,000 children and youth cared for by the Salesian SSM Province, aims to cover the basic needs of families in vulnerable situations, promote training and job placement programs for youth, and strengthen educational plans for children and adolescents. The award was collected by Fr. Samuel Segura, SSM Provincial Vicar, and Fr. Jose Antonio Hernández, Salesian Family Delegate.

Goma, D.R. Congo - July 2022 - Twenty-five Salesians from seven communities and presences of the "St. Joseph" Delegation, AFC-EST, participated in the annual retreat held July 3-9 at the "Gennesaret" Retreat Center of the Pallottine community of Kyeshero. The exercises were led by Fr. Georges Kozuch, Pallottine, on the theme "The Figure of St. Francis de Sales." The Provincial of the Central Africa Province (AFC), Fr. Guillermo Basañes, attended the opening of the retreat as part of his service of pastoral care and accompaniment to the Salesian Delegation.
