India - 9 June 2022 - The members of Boscom South Asia, tuned their attention to “Digital Addiction” as part of the Salesian School of Social Communication, as Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, from NIHMANS, Bangalore shared his expertise. The Communication Department of Salesian Congregation is organizing a continuous session on various topics of media as part of the SSSC (Salesian School of Social Communication), Rome. Experts from various disciplines in media share their thoughts and views. On June 9, 2022, the Boscom members attended the session on “Media Psychology: Understanding Digital Addictions, its implications and possible approaches”. The resource person was Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Professor of Clinical Psychology, NIHMANS, Bangalore. Founder and coordinator of SHUT Clinic (Service for Healthy Use of Technology), India’s first tech deaddiction clinic, member of WHO group on addictive behaviours and lancet group on gambling. He has brought out articles for public awareness in print media and is credited with research papers on technology use in national and international journals. He received an international fellowship from ICMR.

Warsaw, Poland - June 2022 - On June 12, after a year of formation at the Salesian Mission Office in Warsaw, the volunteers of the "Don Bosco International Volunteering" received their missionary crosses. The 16 young volunteers will go on a mission to various countries in Africa and South America to help in the Salesian works and proclaim the Gospel. In the Basilica of the "Sacred Heart of Jesus" in Warsaw Fr. Tadeusz Jarecki, Provincial Superior of the Warsaw Province (PLE), presided over the Eucharist during which he handed the missionary crosses to the volunteers. A week earlier, on June 4, during the XXVI Youth Meeting in Lednica (Poland), seven missionary volunteers, who will go on long-term mission trips, received the missionary crosses from Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, President of the Bishops' Conference of Poland. The meeting on the Lednica Fields with the motto "At World’s End," was attended by tens of thousands of young people from all over Poland and guests from Ukraine. One of the most moving moments was the prayer for peace.

Porto Velho, Brazil - June 2022 - The Salesian parish "Our Lady of Fatima" in Porto Velho, Rondônia State, belonging to the Brazil-Manaus Province (BMA), has opened an evangelizing presence together with university youth at the "São Lucas University Center." The educational institution is private and at the initiative of Catholic students and with the handing over of management, the parish will now have a presence on the campus. On June 11, Fr. Sérgio Lúcio, pastor of "Our Lady of Fatima," presided over a Mass at the conclusion of the first semester of studies. "Being present among young people is precisely our Salesian mission. Our parish will always come willingly to serve the educational community," said Fr. Lúcio. The "São Lucas" Faculty is located within the parish territory served by the Salesians of Porto Velho.

Croatia - June 2022 - About 60 Ukrainian children, with the help of the Salesian Mission Office of Bonn, Germany, and the Salesian Province of Croatia (CRO), have arrived on the Croatian island of Prvić, near the city of Šibenik, where they will spend nine days. The children come from the city of Lysychansk, in eastern Ukraine, which has been under Russian bombardment since March and is currently in the worst affected part of the war. The children have endured the horrors of war, spending several months in shelters. The Salesians took them to Lviv and then decided to move them at least for a short time away from the war, to the Croatian coast.
