Comoro, East Timor - December 2021 - On the weekend of 11-12 December, the Central unit of the Salesian Cooperators of Dili, together with its Delegate, aspirants, and young Cooperators, held its fourth assembly. The first day was dedicated to the election of the new leaders (Local Coordinator and his Councilors), who will animate and govern all the activities and programs of the Association for the next three years (2022-2024). The assembly was led by Fr Lourenço das Neves SDB, the Delegate of the Salesian Cooperators. On the second day, there was a spiritual retreat for all the members of the Center of the Salesian Cooperators in Dili, led by Fr José San Juan, SDB. Then, during the Mass presided over by Fr Apolinario Maria Ornai Neto, the Superior of the Vice Province of East Timor (TLS), 17 aspirants made their promise as Salesian Cooperators.
Lo Cañas, Chile - December 2021 - On 11 December, Cl. Fausto Siavic sdb from Ecaudor was ordained a deacon at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians by His Excellency Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati, SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Santiago, Chile. The Eucharist was concelebrated by Fr Carlo Lira, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL), Fr Felix Levín, Rector of the Lo Cañas Theologate community, and by other Salesians.
Poland - December 2021 - From December 5 to 11, the Salesians of all four Polish Provinces organized the online Advent Retreat called "KOX Online Retreat for Young People". This was a series of live meetings with different priests on topics important to young people. These took place on the Facebook page "Salezjański Portal Młodzieżowy", which brings together young people connected to the Salesian Family in Poland. The entire initiative was coordinated by Fr. Mariusz Jawny, SDB, delegate for Social Communication of the Province of Wrocław (PLO). Among the preachers there were also Fr Dominik Chmielewski, SDB, Fr Teodor Sawielewicz, and also young Salesians, such as Fr Patryk Chmielewski, SDB, Fr Damian Mackiewicz, SDB, and Fr Marcin Giemzik. Approximately 800 people benefited from this retreat available online.
America - December 2021 - On December 9, the meeting of the Federations of Past Pupils of Don Bosco of the America Region was held online, led by their advisor Eduardo Pessoa Cavalcante. The event was attended by the Past Pupils of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru. The meeting was opened by the greeting of Eduardo Pessoa Cavalcante and the opening prayer. The agenda included: reflections on the World Assembly 2021; the next actions of the Alumni according to the plan presented; personal presentation of each participant; American Congress 2022 and 2023; a moment of dialogue. "The meeting strengthened the sense of communion and commitment to walk together for the coming years," said Pessoa Cavalcante.
