RMG - New Brazil-São Paulo Provincial appointed

(ANS - Rome) - The Salesian Rector Major, Don Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of the General Council, has nominated Fr. Justo Ernesto Piccinini as the next Provincial of the "Maria Ausiliatrice" Brasil-São Paulo (BSP) Province.

Fr Piccinini was born on December 12, 1960 in Massaranduba, Brazil; his Salesian Novitiate took place at São Carlos between 1980 and 1981; he issued perpetual vows on January 31, 1987 in São Paulo and was ordained a priest on 6 January, 1990, in his hometown.

Among the various positions held over the years, he has been Bursar of several works - "San Gioacchino" in Lorena (1993-1994), "Lapa" (1994-1998 and 2009-2013), "Bom Retiro" (2000-2005) and "Santa Teresa" (2005-2009) in São Paulo - as well as Director at Bom Retiro (1998-2004) and at the Salesian House of Cruzeiro (2013-2014) and Oratory Directory at Lapa (2012-2013).

For the Province of BSP, he served as Provincial Councilor between 2006 and 2009 and currently holds the position of Provincial Bursar and Delegate for Administration.
